A short docu-drama, broken into two parts, demonstrating the importance of FS oral communication, reading and writing skills for professional relationships, at Level 2, in HSC. In particular, this demonstrates the Level 2 skills of: Considering complex information, presenting information clearly and persuasively to others and showing understanding of others’ points of view (Speaking, Listening and Communication) and utilising relevant information selected from different texts (Reading) In P1 the staff of a pharmacy meet to discuss stock levels. Following a stock check they decide that some of the items are in short supply. In P2, a customer arrives requesting her regular supply of insulin, but unfortunately it is not available. However, the chief pharmacist reassures her that the insulin will be arriving shortly, and they can rearrange a doctor’s appointment to coincide with the arrival of the product. The film ends with the pharmacist telephoning the customer to explain this information to her, and an interview in which one of the pharmacy team explains why oral communication skills are so important.
