Fighting ovarian cancer as a student
A student who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in her first year of university has created videos and animations to help other young people through illness.
“They found the mass on the right hand side, and I had to have an operation,” said Seren Hughes.
“My needs to a woman who’s 40 with ovarian cancer was totally different, and what I wanted to talk about and what was important to me was completely different.”
“I think it’s important to still do what you want, and to not let that become you,” added the 22-year-old.
As part of her recovery, Seren will be running the London Marathon in 2018.
