Will FM radio be switched off?
Do you have a digital radio at home and in your car? How good is digital radio reception where you live? These are important questions because this year, digital is set to reach 50% of all radio listening – and once this has happened, the government has said it’ll look at whether to draw up a timetable for a digital radio switchover. It won’t happen before 2020, but it would mean that FM broadcasts will be switched off. Sound far-fetched? Well, they did it with analogue television in 2012.
