Brian Wilson talks to Clare Crane about the making of Pet Sounds

Brian Wilson is heading to the UK to play Pet Sounds in its entirety for the last time as part of its 50th Anniversary tour.

Brian was of course the Beach Boys singer, songwriter and main creative force behind some of the most cherished recordings in rock history. Indeed, it is no exaggeration to call Brian Wilson one of the most influential composers of the last century. He was barely out of his teens when he began to create some of the most beloved records ever - "Surfer Girl," "In My Room," "I Get Around," "Don't Worry Baby," "Fun, Fun, Fun," "Help Me Rhonda" and "California Girls"

By 1966, though he decided to take the band in a new direction with his creation Pet Sounds.

He chats to 6 Music's Clare Crane about the record, creating it over 50 years ago, and playing it live now…
