Rowing: Gammond not enjoying the cold weather training
British Rowing athlete Fiona Gammond explains how tough the winter training can be at their Caversham training base.
As temperatures plummet to near freezing, Gammond is hoping for warmer weather soon.
“Yesterday was pretty cold,” Gammond told ѿý Radio Berkshire’s Tim Dellor. “The worst is when your hands, after a lap of the lake, they really get quite cold.
“Then suddenly they start getting really hot!”
But Gammond has one way of warming up after the cold morning’s training.
“The food [here is] absolutely amazing, it’s fantastic.
“I always eat up there, it’s amazing.”
