Why this busy seaside town has hidden problems
The gap in life expectancy between rich and poor in the UK is widening. A baby born in one of the most affluent areas is now expected to live more than eight years longer than a baby born in one of the poorest places. Those figures are from the Longevity Science Panel - it monitors life expectancy trends in the UK and looks at the possible causes. A recent study singled out Blackpool as one of the poorest places, with high levels of unemployment. Jess Quayle reports on the hidden problems of this busy seaside town.
