Death Row inmate ‘spared’ after father's intervention
The father of a death row inmate who arranged a gunman to kill him and the rest of his family has spoken exclusively to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 live after a parole board recommended he be spared the death penalty.
Kent Whitaker recommended his son's sentence was commuted and said:
"He's been a model prisoner. He's never threatened or hurt anybody; he's been a calming influence on death row."
