Housing Secretary Sajid Javid has said that local authorities will no longer be able to "fudge" the number of new homes built each year in their area.

As he prepares to announce an overhaul of planning rules in an attempt to increase the rate of house building in England, Mr Javid said that councils' "nimbyist attitude" would no longer be acceptable.
