Republic of Ireland and Burnley forward Jonathan Walters has described opening up about his mother鈥檚 death as 鈥渢he best thing I鈥檝e ever done鈥�.

In a follow-up interview to the sit down discussion he had with 5 live鈥檚 Tony Livesey, Walters says 鈥渉e can now speak about it normally鈥� and that he鈥檚 pleased with the massive response the original interview has had.

Walters鈥� mother died when he was just 11-years-old, and he previously spoke about 鈥渘ever grieving鈥� and having to 鈥渓ock away his emotions鈥�.
