Lower Loveday say: "A musical storm is brewing - one that began in a Year 8 school talent show where Tom and Mark first started a band."

But it wasn't until they both randomly met while travelling in Australia that they decided to define the sound you hear today.

Taking influence from Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Blossoms, The Beatles, The Smiths and Foals, they say: "Songs just started falling out of the sky and into Tom's head and came out through his guitar.

"Now then that we have found our ideal guitarist and bassist, everything is set."

“Striking and powerful songs from some of the fastest growing stars on the local scene” - Andrew Marston.

How loud is too loud?

How loud is too loud?
We all know that listening to music too loud - or going to too many rock concerts in your youth - can damage your hearing later in life.

But it seems playing in an orchestra could be just as damaging.

On Wednesday, a viola player who suffered a life-changing hearing injury at a rehearsal of Wagner's Die Walkure in 2012 won a landmark High Court judgment against the Royal Opera House.

The case won by Chris Goldscheider has huge implications for the industry and the health and safety of musicians.

It is the first time a judge has scrutinised the music industry's legal obligations towards musicians' hearing.
