
'Let us now think of Mauritius as an ocean state'
Mauritius is celebrating 50 years of independence and arguably there is a lot to celebrate in the areas of healthcare, education, economic growth and cultural diversity. However, a minor criticism is that Mauritius could do more to take advantage of its strategic location in the Indian Ocean, positioned as it is in-between Asia and Africa.
Can Mauritius continue to punch above its weight? The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s Lerato Mbele sat down with the country's minister of foreign affairs, trade and international cooperation, Vishnu Lutchmeenaraidoo.
