Beating Anorexia | Toby's Story
Toby was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa in 2015 and was hospitalised in 2016, where he stayed for 8 months. This is his story.
Toby explains that recovering from anorexia nervosa is not just about gaining weight. For lasting change in anorexia recovery, it's important to get to the root problem. Toby says that most often with eating disorders, it's a coping mechanism for much deeper problems.Therapy was a really positive experience for Toby and it made him think about what he wanted to do with his life.
Recovery is possible and there are people who want to help. You can talk to B-eat (an eating disorder charity), your GP, friends and family.
"The bravest thing you can do is wake up in the morning, feel like the world is crumbling around you, and yet keep going".
