The Law Society says our immigration and asylum system is not fit for purpose
Many people who apply to live and work in this country are being told they have no right to stay, even if they do. Government figures show that half of all the immigration and asylum decisions made by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office that go to appeal, are overturned. The Law Society is warning that unreliable decisions and long delays caused by caseworkers are "undermining the rule of law". Our reporter, Sangita Myskar speaks to Anine Sutherland who fought for three years to be granted her immigration status.
