How to capture yourself in 3D

Click finds out how video and scanning technologies combine to capture a person in 3D. The avatar can be incorporated into virtual reality experiences or games. Gareth Mitchell is at the New York company Scatter. Its Depthkit technology has been used in three of the virtual reality experiences at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. Volumetric capture records not just the colour and intensity of each pixel but also its distance from the scanner, an Xbox Kinect.
