Lorries gather under bridge to help prevent suicidal man from jumping
13 lorries parked underneath an overpass in the US state of Michigan to act as a ‘safety net’ as a suicidal man was preparing to jump. Police shut a section of the interstate, and spent 15 minutes lining the lorries up, where they stayed for four hours while police talked the man down.
Lieutenant Mike Shaw from the Michigan State Police Department says the lorry drivers are “always more than willing to stay there and provide a safety net”.
