'My friends told me to stay in the closet'
48-year-old Andy Train came out as gay a day before his 33rd birthday. He was married to a woman for 4 years and says that at the time he felt that he was “the only person in the world” who felt like he felt. He says his wife at the time was “very distressed” after he came out and that it was a “really deep and difficult time”.
He says friends told him to stay in the closet but he says he “just needed to find out who he was”. Andy says he changed dramatically after he realised he was gay. He lost weight, changed his hairstyle and has never drunk bitter since.
