The World Goes On, by acclaimed Hungarian author László Krasznahorkai, is a globe-spanning collection of short stories. Set in locations as varied as Kiev, Varanasi, and Shanghai these are depictions of humanity, our place within the universe and the moments when we become acutely aware of how infinitesimally small that place really is.
