"Laugh out loud funny" American novelist Philip Roth has died, aged 85. He was described by the New York Times as a "towering novelist who explored lust, Jewish life and America". Martha Kearney speaks to his biographer Blake Bailey, to his friend Prof Hermoine Lee, to whom he dedicated his final novel, and to admirers including comic David Baddiel, former literary editor of the Times Erica Wagner and expert in American literature Prof Sarah Churchwell.
