James Bay on Viagogo: 'They just don't care'
James Bay says it's “wrong and unfair” that tickets to his show are being resold for over four times face value.
James Bay has spoken out about inflated gig ticket prices, telling ѿý Radio 5 live’s Nihal Arthanayake "it's wrong and unfair" that advertisers on Viagogo are charging over four times the face value for a ticket to his show.
The interview follows the news that National Trading Standards has been asked by the Advertising Standards Authority to open an investigation into Viagogo for allegedly misleading consumers over booking fees and delivery prices.
Bay said: “They just don’t care. They just don’t seem to care. They don’t understand how unfair it is."
Viagogo are yet to respond to 5 live's requests for comment.
According to the ASA, Viagogo said “each ticket home page contained the text ‘prices exclude booking and delivery fees (applicable by transaction)’, and therefore at the first stage of the customer journey, consumers were informed that the prices displayed did not include additional booking and delivery fees”.
