Replacement cladding fails fire safety test

Since the fire at Grenfell Tower, high rise blocks across the country have had cladding that failed government tests removed.

Alternatives that are rated either non-combustible or of limited combustibility have been taking their place - and because of their fire-safe rating, they don’t need to pass full system tests.

But, as Newsnight’s policy editor Chris Cook explains, now there are question marks about whether some perform as well in fires as was thought.
