The band was formed in Manchester in 1982. 鈥楲iving In Extraordinary Times鈥� is the band's 15th studio album.

It was produced by Mercury and Brit Award winner Charlie Andrew (whose previous work includes alt-J and Wolf Alice) and Beni Giles.

鈥楲iving In Extraordinary Times鈥� follows the release of 鈥楤etter Than That鈥� EP, the band鈥檚 first new music since their 2016 album 鈥楪irl at the End of the World'. It debuted at number two in the UK album charts, second only to Adele 鈥� their highest debut entry in nearly twenty years.
