She's also got some straight talking advice for friends and family on how to offer the best support throughout what can often be a petrifying time! Never ask them 'are you sure?' always take the time to listen and don't interject, never put pressure on a person, do your research to avoid an awkward situation and if it changes nothing about your relationship with the person, let them know!
