Kate recommends five films she likes that explore Queer issues including 'Boy Meets Girl' starring Michelle Hendley about a girl exploring her gender identity, which Kate thinks is one of the best examples of doing a trans story right. 'Something Must Break' is set in Stockholm and explores gender expression and love and dating as trans. 'Paris is Burning' which was released in 1990 and centres around members of the African American and Latino community in New York, of various gender identities, exploring some big issues such as race, class and sexuality.

'Ma Vie en Rose' is about a young boy who identifies as a girl but faces being isolated by the local community. Finally, 'Her Story' which is free to watch online and looks at dating as an openly trans woman. Get watching people!
