It was one of the most anticipated days of the RHI inquiry so far as former DUP minister Jonathan Bell gave his testimony into the burn to earn scandal.

Mr Bell claimed Stormont spin doctor David Gordon said he was a "monster that had to be put to sleep". He denied claims he had tried to punch his former spad and he claimed there had been a smear campaign against him after his Nolan Show RHI interview.
