A housing rights campaigner has told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ 5 Radio Live that rented homes should have an annual MOT-style assessment.

This comes after a new report by the University of York suggested that landlords should have to "MOT" their properties they rent out in order to make sure it is safe for their tenants.

Speaking to Anna Foster, Vicky Spratt explained that some tenants are too scared to ask their landlord to carry out vital repairs.
