The area in Lagos attracts people from all over Nigeria and from other neighboring countries.
Makoko has had negative press around its crime levels.
Resident Abayomi Messou gave 蜜芽传媒 Minute a tour and said: "To the world's it's the largest floating slum...but to us it's home."
