The eviction squad: South Africa's land troubles
In the next few months South Africa could see a change in its constitution to make explicit plans to confiscate land without compensation.
The growing debate has attracted unwanted comparisons from some quarters with Zimbabwe - not least as much of the land in South Africa still remains in the hands of white farmers.
But the picture is much more complicated, as the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Southern Africa correspondent Karen Allen reports.
