British Library displays endangered Islamic manuscripts
An exhibition launches at the British Library this week showing a collection of endangered manuscripts rescued from Mali's civil war.
It focuses on preserving material from Djenne - an important centre of Islamic learning and a UNESCO world heritage site.
Since 2004, the Endangered Archives Programme has digitised seven million images and over 25,000 sound files from around the world.
