Should the government change the process by which someone can change their gender?
The Gender Recognition Act allows people to change their gender legally.
At the moment, it requires transgender people to have lived in their acquired gender for two years and supply evidence of gender dysphoria - a condition where a person experiences distress because there's a mismatch between their biological sex and gender identity.
One proposed change - aimed at making the process easier - would allow people to "self-declare" their gender. But this issue has divided opinion.
