In attendance: MAS Records

First, in this episode, Andrew catches up with the people behind MAS Records - a national record label based in Kidderminster.

'Mighty Atom Smasher' is a non-profit music development programme founded in 2001 by Kevyn Gammond (ex-Band of Joy), with Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs), Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) and Karl Hyde (Underworld) as its patrons.

The label is based in Kidderminster, and runs in partnership with local education authorities with artist development centres across the country.

This initiative is unique because it combines expert music industry knowledge and experience with conventional training and education.

In attendance: Ross Angeles

Ross Angeles are a female-fronted electronic/pop duo from Herefordshire and Bristol.

Mike Wynn used to be in a lot of rock bands, including Labels, Flat Pack Heroes and We Shall Meet In The Place Where There Is No Darkness - receiving rave reviews from Radio 1's Huw Stephens.

Together with Flossie-T on vocals, Ross Angeles stole the show on our ѿý Introducing stage at the Wychwood Festival on Cheltenham Racecourse earlier this year and it was a real pleasure to welcome them to this year's Worcester Music Festival.

“A fun, energetic duo that leave you smiling and hungry for more!” – Andrew Marston.

Redditch-based State of Ember formed in 2016 and have a sound inspired by hard rock, punk and metal.

The band were informed their track 'Denial' will feature on video game 'Wreckfest' - which is scheduled to be released worldwide on Xbox One and PS4 this month.

Their 'sister' band Project Revise are a pop punk band that has accumulated almost 13,000 followers on Instagram, through constant promotional clips and music videos made by the band themselves!

In attendance: Rebekah & Reuben Buffong

Rebekah Buffong is a singer/songwriter/producer from Redditch who's been creating music professionally since 2009.

She says: "As a natural introvert, music has become my way of expressing thoughts, feelings and observations."

We loved her music so much, she was second in our ones to watch out for in 2016.“Simply stunning. Killer tunes delivered with a must-see live show" - Andrew Marston.

Meanwhile, her brother Reuben - who she lives with in Redditch - is a singer/songwriter/dancer who's influenced by Kano, T-Pain, Drake, Michael Jackson, Kid Ink and Chris Brown.

As well as producing his own tracks, Reuben has a professional career making music videos for others.

Mitch Loveridge is a 26-year-old singer/songwriter from Redditch whospecialisesin acoustic pop.

He's been performing locally for more than a decade, but earlier this year we reported on his rags-to-riches story after releasing his own album following months of sleeping rough on the town's streets.

Mitch had been living in the town's bandstand - but has turned his life around and has been doing a lot of work for various charities, from homelessness to mental health.

Aside from his musical forays, Mitch is an avid gamer, loves performing magic tricks and adores his family and pets!

"One of - if not - THE most inspirational musicians we've ever had on stage with truly incredible music and stories behind the songs" - Andrew Marston.

In attendance: Empyre

Empyre perform intense, atmospheric rock, with a dark and introspective edge to their writing.

The quartet, who are based in both Bromsgrove and Northampton, take in influences such as Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Royal Blood and lay on a storming live show.

"Thunderous rock with one of the meatiest sounds in the UK right now. No stage is too big for these guys" - Andrew Marston.

Performing Live: ճܰ

The dual-fronted three-piece, which consists of Worcester's Tina V and Droitwich's Anya Pulver,, last year, after sending their tracks to us.

ճܰ describe their music as "pop songs drenched in grunge-heavy noise, with math-rock seeping through the seams. With vocal lines that tangle and intertwine, riffs so substantial they’ve got their own post code, and a beat - provided by former Maybeshewill drummer James Collins - that ties everything down with industrial power, this is a sound of colossal proportions."

"ճܰ have everything you want from your favourite new guitar band: power, poise and catchy-as-heck tunes. Tina and Anya are up front, belting out the riffs and riding the harmonies, whilst Jim sits at the back driving it all along - a no frills, foot-tapping cocktail. Look out,ճܰwill make your head spin." - ѿý Music Introducing.
