Why all music is getting faster
Our taste in music is changing – everything is getting faster. Researchers have found long instrumental introductions to pop songs have become almost extinct because people listening on music streaming services like Spotify want to get to vocals more quickly. It’s happening to all music – analysis of a new boxset of music by Baroque composer J.S. Bach found that the performers are rattling through that at a much faster speed than in years gone past.
