As Americans headed to the polls, Newsnight looked at the group who could change the outcome: women.
More women are standing in House and Senate races than ever before - 260 in total. And it’s female voters that so many of the campaigners had in their sights.
Emily Maitlis is joined by Ana Maria Archila, an activist and the co-executive director of the Centre for Popular Democracy who confronted Senator Jeff Flake in the lift during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings earlier this year and Scottie Nell Hughes, a conservative commentator and presenter of RT America.
