The Democrats have taken control of the US House of Representatives in the mid-term elections, dealing a blow to President Donald Trump. Will they be able to obstruct Mr Turmp's legislative plans? Dr Kate Ballantye, who teaches American Studies at Birmingham University in Alabama, looks at the results.
