Two QPR fans have finally met, 49 years after a forming an unlikely friendship between a US soldier fighting in the Vietnam War and an 11-year-old boy in Slough.

Nils Guy was only 22-years-old when he was called up for military service with orders overseas in Vietnam after he had emigrated to the US from Surrey.

He wrote a letter which was published in the QPR match day programme, asking if anyone would be interested in sending him clippings on how his club was doing.

11-year-old John Wild sent him match programmes and letters.

The pair were recently guests at Loftus Road and took in Rs鈥� win against Brentford. John said it was 鈥渟urreal鈥� to finally meet Nils.
