A succession of British ministers quit, in the wake of a draft EU withdrawal agreement
A succession of British ministers quit, in the wake of a draft EU withdrawal agreement. We gauge the mood of business on Brexit, with Andrew Varga of Seetru, who opposed Britain's decision to leave the EU, and Simon Boyd of ReidSteel, who supported it. Also in the programme, there's been a row in the UK over an advert for food retailer Iceland, highlighting rainforest destruction which palm oil production can lead to, which was refused clearance by broadcasting authorities for being too political. Dr Ruth Valerio is a director at the international development charity Tearfund, and gives us her assessment of the dispute. The latest figures from Walmart show the US retailer going from strength to strength. We find out more with US journalist Charles Fishman, who has written a book called The Walmart Effect. Plus we have a report on the difficulties US retailers face in finding seasonal workers, whilst the unemployment rate is at a historic low.
