The Return of ISIS
At their height they ruled over large swathes of Syria and Iraq as well the city of Raqqa, but a concerted campaign by Coalition forces saw Islamic State effectively pushed off the battlefield. But worrying signs of their re-emergence are now evident in Northern Iraq and parts of Syria. David Pratt, contributing Foreign Editor for the Herald, looks at the causes behind their resurgence.
