India Bankers Strike As Merger Risks Jobs

Over a million workers in India have struck against a bank merger

Nearly one million bank workers in India have gone on strike as a major bank merger could leave thousands jobless. Japan has announced that it is withdrawing from the International Whaling Commission, in order to resume commercial whale hunting. We assess why this is controversial, as a ban on commercial whaling was imposed in 1986. We seek to see if confidence has been restored in Cyprus, five years after a banking crisis that led to a $10bn bailout by some of the world's biggest financial institutions - the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Ivana Davidovic reports.
