Romanian minister challenged on amnesty for corrupt politicians
Romania's Foreign Minister Teodor MeleÅŸcanu tells Newsnight pardoning his country's corrupt politicians may be "an alternative solution" to relieve their overcrowded prisons.
Romania has just taken on the EU presidency for the first half of this year. It's the first time that they've held the presidency since joining the EU 12 years ago.
Mr MeleÅŸcanu joins Newsnight to discuss when the EU will make its next move on Brexit, and what that will be, as well as whether his country is best positioned to hold the presidency at this crucial time.
