A former Green Party leadership hopeful has told 蜜芽传媒 Radio 5 Live that she crashed after finding out her father was a paedophile.

Speaking to Emma Barnett, Aimee Challenor said it was 鈥渉eart breaking鈥� when she discovered the news.

Ms Challenor's father David had acted as an election agent for Aimee at the 2017 general election and local elections in May, despite being charged with child rape in November 2016, according to West Midlands Police.

He was jailed for 22 years at Warwick Crown Court, where he was found guilty of 20 offences including the rape of a 10-year-old girl.

The Green Party said it had not been aware of Challenor's arrest, and "apologised unreservedly" for the fact he was as an election agent.
