6. The psychological impact of knife crime
Anatomy of a Stabbing: Episode 6
The UK is experiencing record levels of stabbings - more than 600 people have died since 2017.
JJ McPhillips was murdered two years ago, and PM's reporter Andrew Bomford has spent the last year following his mother Michelle as she tries to achieve justice, and campaigns to raise awareness about knife crime.
In this episode, Andrew meets a 16 year old knife crime victim, and non-gang member, who was expelled from school because “he was a risk to other pupils”. He also hears from NHS psychologists who explain the “flat emotional reaction” they get from the teenagers they are working with when they see one of their friends has been attacked or killed.
