Council fines

There has been a huge increase in Public Spaces Protection Order fines

Nearly 10,000 fines for breaches of "petty" council orders were issued in England and Wales in 2018, with a quarter of those in Peterborough alone. Hillingdon councillor David Simmonds defends the rise in fines but lawyer Rosie Brighouse says powers are misused.
