The Apollo 11 landing almost 50 years ago is still one of the greatest achievements of mankind, the images iconic and the atmosphere of hope and excitement unparalleled.

The names Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong are known around the world.

The Apollo project was huge. Hundreds of thousands of people worked on it in 20,000 companies - among them a few hundred British engineers and scientists.

With access to their personal Apollo archive, Newsnight's Adrian Harrison now speaks to them about their part in, arguably, the world's biggest journey.
