Tracy Carroll from Helston has won four medals at the British Transplant Games in Wales.
She won gold in the 50m backstroke, silver in the 50m breaststroke and two bronze medals at the event in Newport.
She started having kidney problems in August 2010 and ultimately needed a transplant.
Following tests for suitable donors her mother Angela turned out to be a match and a successful procedure took place in January 2011.
Tracy spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Cornwall's Will Lethbridge.
