Irish boxing star Katie Taylor has told Radio 5 Live it鈥檒l be a 鈥渉istory-making moment鈥� when she becomes the first female to headline a UK arena event.

Taylor, who is aiming to become a two-weight world champion, will take on Christina Linardatou at Manchester Arena in November. She told Radio 5 Live鈥檚 Anna Foster she鈥檚 鈥渁lways wanted to change the perceptions of women鈥檚 boxing鈥�.

鈥淚鈥檝e felt like I鈥檝e always pushed boundaries and I鈥檝e always tried to make history in this sport,鈥�

Local fighter Anthony Crolla will also feature on the undercard and Taylor says she鈥檚 鈥渁 small bit embarrassed鈥� about headlining the card ahead of him: 鈥淲hat an amazing ambassador he has been for boxing so it鈥檚 just amazing to be a part of his night as well.鈥�
