1970's Jewish East London
London's oldest Ashkenazi synagogue, Sandys Row in Spitalfields, is playing host to a display of never before seen photos of Jewish East London from the 1970's, as captured by youth worker Shloimy Alman. Having first arrived in the area in 1977, the collection documents characters, markets, businesses and institutions and provides a unique visual history of the area's Jewish community.
