Jo Durrant’s Lunchtime Show 27/12/2019

With the Christmas Lectures on TV this week, Jo has been to the Gloucestershire Schools Christmas Lectures organised by the Cheltenham Science Festival.

With the Christmas Lectures on TV this week, Jo brings you our county’s answer to them! She’s been to the Gloucestershire Schools Christmas Lectures organised by the Cheltenham Science Festival, held at the Bacon Theatre in the town. Jo meets Simon Watt who brought genetics to the stage, and Antonia Forster who revealed how important computer programming was to landing on the Moon in July 1969. Plus you’ll hear what some of the youngsters in the audience learnt from the event.

And there’s a highlight from the Gloucester History Festival – Jo meets historian Suzannah Lipscombe who did some incredible detective work into the lives of a group of women in the 16th century.
