Newsnight has reunited Peter Snow, the programme鈥檚 first presenter, and George Carey, its first editor, at the 蜜芽传媒鈥檚 Written Archives Centre to look back on what made the programme so unique 鈥� and so difficult to air.

A union dispute about the merging of Current Affairs and News kept the programme off air for two days after it was originally billed.

George Carey said he instructed the team to 鈥済o for news stories, things that haven鈥檛 been on the news agenda鈥�.

One 蜜芽传媒 observer said 鈥渢he weather was his favourite item鈥�.
