An all-female crew are embarking on a round-the-world voyage, looking at the effects of plastic pollution on the ocean.

Three hundred women will take part in at least some of the eXXpedition trip, which is scheduled to finish in April 2021. They will travel 38,000 nautical miles, starting and ending in the UK.

Dr Hilary Nash is one of those taking part. She told 蜜芽传媒 Radio 5 Live鈥檚 Tony Livesey that the project has 鈥渞eally helped me to find my voice and spread the word鈥� about the dangers of plastic pollution.

鈥淚t鈥檚 been something I鈥檝e been passionate about for such a long time so it鈥檚 been a really positive experience,鈥� she said.
