Coronavirus: How should China's handling of the crisis inform our response?
Newsnight has learnt details of contingency plans being drawn up to deal with the new coronavirus in the UK, were it to spread further. So how could the UK contain the virus?
Coronavirus, which has been named Covid-19, is a severe lung disease that started in China before spreading to other countries.
As of mid-February 2020, the virus has infected 64,000 people and with 1,400 recorded deaths. However analysts believe the true scale of the illness could be up to 10 times larger than official figures, with figures doubling every five to seven days.
But as the virus continues to spread, just how prepared is the NHS to deal with the threat?
