Iranian chess official fears going home over hijab photo
Iranian Shohreh Bayat, an arbiter for the International Chess Federation, says it's unsafe for her to return home to Iran after she was pictured without a headscarf at an international chess tournament.
Photographs were circulated showing Bayat wearing a headscarf around her shoulders while officiating in Shanghai.
She says it would be unsafe to return to Iran where the regime often imprisons women who do not wear a headscarf.
